Just a Philly Girl, Living No Ka ‘Oi

I grew up in Philadelphia and am currently living in Kihei, Hawaii on Maui. I am strong, determined, independent, compassionate and passionate. My family, even half a world away, means the world to me. I’ve held many jobs in my life thus far, ranging from babysitting to accounting to waitressing and more. I work to live, but have steered my career to follow my passions. I teach yoga and work at a wellness center with acupuncturists, massage therapists, and energy workers. In three years time, I transitioned away from a corporate job and landed in the realm of healing arts. Manifestation of dreams is a powerful and attainable thing. My husband and I created the life we want to live. There are ups and downs for sure…but we are LIVING.

For my yoga background? I am an ERYT – 200. As an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher I have:

  • Taken my initial Vinyasa Teacher Training for 200 hours with Dana Hot Yoga in Philadelphia
  • Committed countless hours to my practice at home and in studios around the world including workshops, retreats and more.
  • Continued my education studying multiple modalities of practice so that I may best serve my students, most notably:
    • Yin Yoga Training  w/ Corina Benner of Wake Up Yoga Philadelphia
    • Vimana Yoga Training w/ Bel Carpenter hosted by JTown Hot Yoga
    • Inferno Hot Pilates Training w/ Gabi Walters
  • Taught approximately 1300 classroom hours. This is an insane number of classes to teach in a four year period. I was headed straight towards a yoga burn out. Within that four years I have taken a small break for a few months to travel, reset and reconnect with my own practice. I teach less often now, but would not trade the experience I gained for the world. I have seen so many bodies, injuries and conditions that the experience has not only taught me how to be a better teacher and connect with different types of people, but it has humbled me over and over again.

So this is me. I will share stories of adventures and lessons learned on my blog. You can check my schedule to see when we can practice together and if you’re so inclined, follow me on Instagram @FindingBodhi to see more of what makes me me…my pups (Bodhi & Rowan), snorkel adventures, hiking, cooking, yoga-ing and beach bumming with the best of ’em! Until we meet again, Mahalo for reading, wishing you Peace, LOVE & Paw Prints!
